Impact of El Niño on shallow areas

 

Abstract

Coordinator of several research programmes related to El Niño and the climatic change impact. Principal Professor of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, dedicated in marine biodiversity, coastal areas ecology and biology impact of El Niño event studies. His professional formation as a biologist was finished in 1975. Subsequently, in 1990, he obtained his Dr. rer. nat. grade in Bremen University, Germany. He has published more than 70 papers in national and international scientific journals, most of these in cooperation with Wolf Arntz (AWI). Furthermore he published more than 100 reports in different congress and scientific meetings of his speciality. His scientific production has being distinguished with the most outstanding researcher rewards during 1995-1999 in the Faculty of Biological Sciences of UNMSM. He is also a member of important scientific societies on local and international level.
